The 3rd annual Miss Nigeria USA Pageant was a resounding success.
The Founder Joy Ikedinma Fakhoury Started this pageant with the aim of promoting and appreciating young beautiful Nigerian women in America. Her goal is to help the girls set a goal and work on achieving the goal.

Pageant week kicked off on Wednesday August 9th- August 12th, 2017 with various activities in New York, including a visit to Northside Senior home where the contestant fed, cleaned up and danced with the senior citizens, a workshop on life after the crown and a preliminary contests on platform presentation at the MTV studios.

For the Finale on August 12th, Hundreds of guests gathered at the Schomburg Theater, New York to witness the phenomenon, most highly treasured  and biggest African pageant in the United States of America, Miss Nigeria USA Pageant.
The event was hosted by Liz aka Mama Sade and Ms Ayodelay. 

Special Guest like Neal Farinah, Celebrity hairstylist to Beyonce, Nicki Minaj & Mary J blige. Jordun Love, International Model. RnB musician Praiz. MBGN Tourism Chinyere Adogu was in attendance.  His Excellency Habib, the Ambassador of Nigeria to US and Acting Consul General Mr Ella also blessed the occasion.

A big thank you to all the highly esteemed Judges Ty Hunter (Fashion designer and Beyonces stylist), Millen Magese (Ex beauty Queen & humanitarian), Wura Kolawole (Miss Nigeria USA 2015 1st Runner up), Isaac boaten (Ceo Babu group), Efemena Adabamu (Media Personality) & Asumoh Enyiema (Entrepreneur). A big Congrats to all the 17 Finalists who represented their States this year, a big thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers and Advisers who all contributed in one way or the other to make Miss Nigeria USA 2017 a remarkable success.

The 17 finalists competed in categories including Swim wear, Traditional Outfit,  Evening wear, Talent, platform presentation and on stage question. They all represented their states with grace and honor, they are all winners indeed.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been suspended for five games after he was sent off in Real Madrid's 3-1 win against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup first leg on Sunday.
Ronaldo was sent off in the first leg, a 3-1 win over Barcelona, on Sunday night as he picked up a second yellow card for diving.
The Portuguese striker lost his cool by pushing referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, who included the incident in his report. The referee wrote:
" Once the red card was shown, the player pushed me slightly in a sign of disagreement."

 According to Article 96 of the Spanish league’s rules and regulations says such behaviour should be punished with a ban of between four and 12 matches.
He was given a one-match ban for being shown two yellow cards at the Nou Camp, one for taking off his shirt to celebrate and another for a dive.
While four games were added for pushing the referee in the back after he had been sent off.
The former Manchester Uniter striker will now Wednesday's second leg, Liga games against Deportivo La Coruna, Valencia, Levante and Real Sociedad.


On Tuesday, a 10-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his brother during a game of 'Police and Thief'. He pointed a rifle he didn't know was loaded.  

According to Police reports, the incident happened at a rural home in Loganville in Wisconsin's Sauk County. The boy was playing with his 14-year-old brother and another child. They were toying with a rifle that had the magazine removed but still had a round in the chamber.

When the boy pulled the trigger, the bullet struck his older brother in the chest and he diedon the spot adding to the nearly 1,300 children who die annually from gun-related injuries in the US.

Authorities say the incident is still under investigation and no one has been charged yet.


Botswana's athlete, Isaac Makwala had no other option than to make a solo race after being suspended from the initial qualifying race for contracting norovirus. 
Makwala was prevented from running in Monday's opening 200 metres heat and Tuesday's 400m final after falling victim to an outbreak of gastroenteritis that also affected about 30 other competitors at the Tower Hotel in London.
Despite contracting the virus, the 30-year-old athlete booked his place in the semi-final of the 200metres at the World Athletics Championship with a time of 20.20seconds. Although he was forced to run in the rain compared to his competitors who ran theirs under a normalized weather in the first round two days ago.
After finishing the solo track, the Botswana athlete celebrated the blistering race with some push-ups.

The Catholic Church has released the names of victims of the attack that took place at the St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State last Sunday. 13 people have so far died from the attack while several others sustained injuries. A statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Diocesan Bishop of Nnewi, Most Rev. Hilary Paul Odili Okeke, gives the names of the 13 dead victims as

Richard O'Brien, the creative director who helped build Fox News into America's most watched and most trusted cable news channel, died over the weekend at the age of 59.

Until his death, O’Brien was a senior vice president at Fox News and he played a key role in designing the look of the network from the time it was a fledging cable channel in 1996 through its success over the next two decades.

O’Brien died a week before he would have turned 60. He is survived by his wife, Karen, and a son and daughter.



Beautiful Simone Askew, a Virginia West Point cadet, has become the first black woman to ever be appointed to serve as First Captain, the highest leadership position at the prestigious military school.  

She will lead the program’s more than 4,000 cadets, acting as an intermediary between her classmates and the school’s officials. She is currently in charge of leading 1,502 cadets as the Regimental Commander of Cadet Basic Training II at the New York military prep school.

Askew  is a member of the Army West Point Crew team, a graduate of Air Assault School, a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honorary National History Society, a recipient of the Black Engineer of the Year Award for Military Leadership, and holds the highest female Recondo score during Combat Field Training II for the class of 2018.

Commandant of cadets, Brig. Gen. Steven Gilland described her saying “She truly exemplifies our values of Duty, Honor, Country. Her selection is a direct result of her hard work, dedication and commitment to the Corps over the last three years. I know Simone and the rest of our incredibly talented leaders within the Class of 2018 will provide exceptional leadership to the Corps of Cadets in the upcoming academic year.”
